Originally from San Diego, I moved to Coastal Virginia area in the late 90's. Unlike so many people I meet who don't like the weather here; I love it! I love the seasons, that we get just enough snow to have a few days off every winter and build a snowman, and the hot summers full of perfect beach days! I love the ocean and the close proximity to Washington DC and so much more than that. People often ask me how I ever left San Diego, but the truth is, I have never looked back.
I had an interest in real estate from a very young age. I'm naturally a relationship person so getting to pair making a living with helping people elevate their lifestyle and make one of the most important decisions of their lifetime feels like a true win-win.

Growing up in Hampton Roads with a lender father and agent mother, I'm a passionate product of my environment. Watching my hometown grow and expand was an amazing benefit for someone in my position. “Just a small-town girl…” from a tiny little town in Oklahoma, went to college at the University of Central Oklahoma, met the love of her life, married him on New Years Eve 2005 and moved across the country to Virginia Beach, Virginia in March 2006. Two (2) beautiful children, 11 and 4, numerous deployments, including an unaccompanied two (2) year tour in Japan, and you find this small-town girl from Oklahoma calling Virginia home with no plans of ever leaving.

I was born and raised in Norfolk and graduated from Granby High and Old Dominion University. I have over 15 years of experience in customer service that included experience in management and negotiation. The trifecta of a promotion, new orders for my wife (naval officer), and the allure of the capital pulled me away to northern Virginia/DC for a few years but when it was time to settle down and start a family coming back down home was the only option. After a short time off for our first born I turned my attention back to my career and real estate and haven't looked back yet.

Renee is a licensed Real Estate professional in the State of Virginia. Previous to getting her license Renee worked in the Sales and Marketing Arena for over 20 years. After her 1993 graduation from Juniata College in Huntingdon PA, Renee took her first job in Sales with Prudential Securities. From there she moved to the city, Pittsburgh, to pursue her dreams of moving up in the business world. As a Marketing Sales Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Times, Renee learned how to negotiate and create value for her customers on a daily basis.
At this point in her life, Renee was called by the beach! In 1996, VA Beach, VA became her home and her career advancement continued. Renee became the youngest director at Atlantic Bank. She headed up the Marketing and Sales departments.
In 2001 Renee married her husband Steve. Steve was a young military officer at that time and that is when life changed quite a bit for her. After having her first son, the military decided it was time for this little family to move to Connecticut. Renee and Steve went on to have three boys in 3 years, Ben, Kyle and Will.
The military kindly moved the Mongold family back to Hampton Roads in 2005. It was at this time that Renee started her own business; a pottery and art studio in Chesapeake called Potts N Paints. After three successful years of business ownership the call of the military came again. She sold her business and her family of 5 moved to Amelia Island Florida. While in Florida the Mongolds added another son. This time the call was to China and Joshua Song Mongold became the newest member of the family in 2010. Renee Spent her free time in Florida working with Social Services Child and Family Welfare.
Now a family of 6, the US Military called the Mongolds back to Hampton Roads yet again! And this is where they will stay for the long haul. Renee began teaching in the Chesapeake School System upon their return and spent the past few years loving her job as a teacher.
Through all the chapters of her life, the passion for buying and selling homes remained in the forefront of her mind. I'm a native of Castle Rock, Colorado. I moved to the Hampton Roads at the beginning of 2014 for a duty assignment in the navy. Like many of the service members who move to the area, I've found that there are a lot of opportunities here, and I'm excited to be able to share my active duty perspective with potential future clients; both military and non-military.
While I still have five years left in the navy before retirement, I believe it's essential to plan for the future. Real estate is an exciting and interesting career.
